Connection Over Perfection

Every mum at night:

“Tomorrow, I’m going to get up early before all of the kids, pack their lunches, go for a run, cook a healthy breakfast, and enjoy 20 minutes of silent ‘me time.'”

Morning mum:

“Hahahahahaha. Nice try.”

Everyone understands running a business is hard. But, running a business while raising a family is even harder. It can be lonely, overwhelming, stressful and make you want to lock yourself in bathroom and hide, and that is before school drop off.

But it doesn’t have to be to be that way.

It can be fun, exciting and a joyful experience (most of the time at least) when you have the right team on your side.

Business Mums Hub is passionate about educating and empowering mums to grow their business, without the stress, overwhelm and loneliness that often comes with business grown.

Don’t get me wrong, this is not a pity-party. This is not about feminism, man-bashing, complaining about kids and partners (although what happens in group chats, stays in groups chat). Rather, there needed a safe space to connect with like-minded women who understood the challenges of raising a business, and a family, and finding some-kind of life in between.

In 2018, Business Mums Hub was then known as  SA Mums in Business (SAMIB). It hosted it’s first event at the beautiful Partridge House in Glenelg, organised by Sally Harding. It was a chance for mums to come together, let their hair down and connect in a relaxed, casual environment. These events grew to a community of over 400 mums, including Sandra Senn and Jess Engleson

In 2021, Sandra and Jess took ownership of SAMIB with the desire to continue these events and empower women to grow personally and professionally. They realised a safe space was needed for mums to connect and learn from experts, who could help them grow their business. This purpose opened up SAMIB to include new membership options, and the belief that “it takes a village to raise a business”.

In early 2022 Jess stepped down to spend more time with her 3 young boys and Sandra being Sandra saw the need for the community we offered to go national, and that was when Business Mums Hub was born.

Whether you are a new mum, a soon to be mum, a dog-mamma, a grandma or even hoping to be a mum one-day (as we know that not everyone who wants to be a mum, can be) we want you to be part of our village.
