Our inspiration for the business stemmed from the challenges we both faced in our lives from our IVF story. The emotions which accompany the infertility journey were very overwhelming and difficult at times , however through the use of journals and positive affirmations that we both adopted we were able to believe that we had the inner strength to overcome any challenge life threw at us . In the end we both ever so grateful and fortunate to be Mums of one child each … our shining lights.

At The Village Co., our hearts break for women in need. There are new mothers all around us in South Australia beginning their motherhood journey without the basic necessities they need for themselves and their baby. We can provide these mothers with essential items and support.
The Village Co. aim to supply at risk mothers and mothers-to-be with a bag of essentials for both themselves and their new baby. From extensive Midwifery experience, we have formulated a criteria of women we believe are in most need of this gift.
We support women who are facing adversity such as, Domestic Violence, Mental Health issues, Significant financial strain, Homelessness, teenage pregnancy, Drug use and Refugees.
These bags of essentials are supplied to various wards and departments of the Lyell McEwin Hospital and The Women’s and Children’s Hospital. They are distributed by midwives and social workers that assess these women and identify if they fall into the set criteria.
The items in the bags promote self confidence while also addressing primary health care issues and infection prevention with good hygiene.
